Not long after the arrival of 'Shades', Good Sad Happy Bad (formerly known as Micachu & The Shapes) have unveiled the second taste of their new album, and first under this moniker, Shades. Having served as an explosive highlight of the band's live set for a while now, we were pleased the discover that the recorded version of 'Pyro' doesn't lose any of its exciting and unhinged qualities. Glued together by an off-kilter sequence of descending notes, grungy guitars add gnarliness to the ravey synth line that plays the same thing. Varying in tempo throughout, the simple call and response lyrics are recited like a nursery rhyme, adding a comforting sense of purity to the somewhat hectic instrumentation. Shades will arrive on the 16th of October via Textile Records, and we're very excited. -Holly Mullineaux
